Structure Inspection
T.James Telecoms offer a full site inspection service for green field tower sites, monopoles, telegraph poles and rooftop sites. Inspections can be tailored to individual requirements although the general service includes:
A detailed inspection by competent persons to include but not restricted to the following;
- Sample check of the structural nuts and bolts for correct torque.
- Inspect any hatchways, latchway, Raillok type systems in situ, site security including fence notices and access.
- Lightning protection system.
- Checking of all braces for damage, surface rust and paint depth.
- All third party installation support steelwork.
Production of a comprehensive inspection report and Safe to Climb Certificate for each structure, report to include, but not restricted to, the following; commentary on results of inspections ,any Health & Safety, legislative and site security issues, earthing test results, remedial actions required and any other comments and recommendations.
Defects found will be catagorised as follows:
- Priority 1 – defects which render the structure or access unsafe which require urgent and immediate repair.
- Priority 2 – defects which render the maintenance condition unsatisfactory but not unsafe which require urgent repair to avoid serious penalties in terms of dilapidation and/or increased costs.
- Priority 3 – defects for which routine repair work which is recommended to maintain the value and utility of the structure or access.
- Priority 4 – defects for which preventative maintenance work are recommended to maintain proper standards.
- Omissions and Deficiencies – omissions and deficiencies to the access and fixed safety equipment and ancillary or associated item which should be brought to the attention of climbers and others using the towers.
